Needs context

Dates that need more context

Some deadlines depend on your company setup or on the tax authority involved, so we show them separately instead of forcing one date for everyone.

Company Income TaxDepends on your setup

Company Income Tax Filing

There is no one fixed CIT filing date for every company.

Your filing date depends on your company year-end and, for new companies, your incorporation timing. For most existing companies, the deadline is within six months of the end of the accounting year. For newly incorporated companies, it is the earlier of 18 months from incorporation or six months after the end of the first accounting period.

Reference: Nigeria Tax Administration Act, 2025 section 11(5).
Example: If your company closes on 31 December, the filing deadline will often fall around 30 June of the following year.
Withholding TaxRule still varies

Withholding Tax Remittance

TaxCalc does not show one fixed WHT remittance date yet.

Current official guidance still does not line up cleanly. The Nigeria Tax Administration Act, 2025 points to the 21st day of the next month, while other live authority guidance still points to 30 days or the 30th day. Until that is clearer, TaxCalc keeps WHT out of the fixed-date list.

Reference: Conflict observed between Nigeria Tax Administration Act, 2025 section 107 and current authority notices/circulars still referenced in practice.

How we check dates

Dates here are checked against current LIRS, FCT-IRS, and Nigeria Tax Administration Act guidance. WHT stays outside the dated list until one rule is safe to rely on.

Common questions

Questions people ask before using this calendar

Last verified 5 Jul 2026.

Because current official sources still point to different WHT remittance timelines. Until that is settled for the relevant authority, TaxCalc shows WHT as a check-before-use item instead of pretending one date fits every case.

Because June 30 is common for some December year-end companies, not for every company. Your actual CIT filing date depends on your accounting year-end and, for a new company, your incorporation timing.

The filter follows the year the due date lands in, not the income year. That keeps January and December deadlines visible even when the underlying tax period started in another year.

No. TaxCalc helps you track deadlines and prepare, but filing and remittance still happen through the relevant tax authority or your tax adviser.
