Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using TaxCalc.ng and any related services (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
TaxCalc.ng is operated by Axiom Labs Limited ("TaxCalc", "we", "us", or "our").
2. Description of the Service
TaxCalc.ng provides tools to help users estimate tax obligations under Nigerian tax laws and generate reports/exports for record-keeping. The Service may include:
- Free Service - Anonymous, instant tax estimations (no account required).
- Personal Premium - Paid features such as saving reports, dashboard access, 2026 vs 2025 PAYE comparison, exports, and additional tools.
- Business Services (Workspaces & Payroll) - Paid features such as business workspaces, member roles/seats, payroll runs, imports, results review, exports (PDF/CSV/ZIP), and related business tooling.
All outputs are provided for informational and estimation purposes only and do not guarantee compliance with any tax authority. We are not affiliated with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) or any government agency.
3. No Financial, Tax, or Legal Advice
TaxCalc.ng is not a financial advisor, tax consultant, accounting firm, or law firm. The information and calculations provided are general estimates only and do not constitute financial, tax, or legal advice. You are responsible for consulting a qualified professional regarding your specific situation. You use the Service at your own discretion and risk.
4. Eligibility & User Responsibilities
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, purchase a plan, or use Business features.
If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you represent that you are authorized to bind that business to these Terms.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of any information or data you provide (for example: income, deductions, company details, payroll inputs).
5. Accounts, Security & Communications
To access paid features, you must create an account (or sign in using an authentication provider where available) and provide accurate, up-to-date information.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
We may send you transactional communications related to your account and service usage (for example: security alerts, OTP verification, billing/renewal notices, and service messages). Marketing/product updates may be sent only where you have opted in or where permitted by law.
6. Business Addendum
If you use Business Services (Workspaces & Payroll), the Business Addendum applies and is incorporated into these Terms.
If there is a conflict between the Business Addendum and these Terms, the Business Addendum controls for Business Services.
7. Payments, Billing, Renewals & Plan Changes
Payments are processed by our payment partner(s) (for example: Paystack). You agree that payment information you provide is accurate and that you are authorized to use the payment method.
Billing cycles. Plans may be billed monthly or annually (as shown at checkout).
Auto-renewal (where applicable). Some plans may auto-renew. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry and may notify you.
Expiry/access policy. Unless otherwise stated at checkout, when a paid entitlement ends, access to paid features may become inactive until renewed. Some Business payment methods may support a short billing grace period or manual renewal flow, as stated at checkout and in workspace billing settings.
Plan changes. Upgrades may take effect immediately (and may require checkout). Downgrades may take effect at the next billing cycle. We may block plan changes that would put you below current usage (for example: seats/add-ons in use).
Taxes/VAT. Displayed prices may include or exclude taxes/VAT as indicated at checkout and on receipts.
8. Refunds
Refunds are not automatic. If offered, refunds are handled in accordance with our internal policy and applicable law.
7-day window (first-time purchase). You may request a refund within seven (7) days of your first-time purchase of a paid plan for an account/workspace, provided you have not materially used paid features.
Examples of material usage include generating/downloading exports (PDF/CSV/ZIP), creating/saving payroll runs or results, inviting members/consuming seats, or using paid add-ons.
Renewals. Renewal charges are non-refundable, except where required by law.
Where a refund is approved, it is processed back to the original payment method where possible, subject to payment partner timelines.
9. Availability, Changes & Feature Updates
We may improve, modify, or discontinue parts of the Service from time to time. We do not guarantee that any specific feature will remain available indefinitely.
Tax laws and regulations change, and while we aim to keep the Service updated, results may not reflect the most current legal requirements at all times.
10. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes
- Attempt to bypass authentication, access controls, or entitlement limits
- Upload malicious content or attempt to disrupt the Service
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or underlying algorithms (except as permitted by law)
We may suspend or terminate access for violations or suspected abuse.
11. Intellectual Property
All content and materials on the Service (including branding, UI, text, graphics, software, and underlying code) are owned by Axiom Labs Limited or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Service for your personal or internal business use in accordance with these Terms.
12. Customer Data
"Customer Data" means data you or your workspace members submit to the Service (including saved reports and payroll inputs).
You represent and warrant that you have the right to upload/submit Customer Data and to allow TaxCalc to process it to provide the Service.
You retain ownership of Customer Data. You grant TaxCalc a limited license to process Customer Data to provide, secure, and improve the Service as described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that calculations or content are accurate, complete, or up to date, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaxCalc.ng, Axiom Labs Limited, and their owners, directors, employees, or affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities; or reliance on outputs or decisions made using the Service.
If we are found liable for any claim related to the Service, our total aggregate liability is limited to the total amount you paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot be limited under applicable law.
15. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate access (including paid accounts/workspaces) if you violate these Terms, we suspect fraudulent/abusive activity, or we discontinue the Service (in whole or part).
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Data handling upon termination/deletion is governed by our Privacy Policy and legal obligations.
16. Third-Party Services & Links
The Service may integrate or link to third-party services (such as payment processors or sign-in providers). We are not responsible for third-party content, privacy practices, or policies. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
17. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes arising in connection with these Terms or the Service may be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and may provide additional notice (for example: email or in-app notice). Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
